Dropped Floor Pans

Hey, cool project, how much are the dropped floor pans? I plan to fabricate carbon fiber ones, maybe carbon fiber sandwiched with a nomex honeycome core. Mmm.. maybe I should juste do the whole floor instead as one piece heh..

After you get the floor done in carbon fiber, do the rest of the car! I'm sure you'll do a primo job!

The prefabricated pans go for $399 for a pair. They are essentially sheetmetal "tubs" with a 2" lip. They won't protrude below the frame rail I'm told. This way, there's no issue with clearance and no need to re-adjust the suspension.

How many $$$ could we save? and when you say that a pair is $399, are you talking about the left and right sides? or the front and rear panels for a single side?

Larry, it's great having you on this board. You bring fresh new ideas that are appreciated. Keep up the great work.

A "pair" consists of the right and left pans. Each pan is prefabricated (picture a 2" deep baking dish, the size of the rear floor pan). I'll see if I can get a picture.

Dont forget when you are negotiating a group price for the floor pans you may want to ask about a group rate for the new carpet required.
It takes a different carpet kit.

If the floor pan is practially flush with the frame rails. Won't the studs or screws attaching the seat rails to the tub stick out further then the frame rail? Or do you just weld the studs upside down or something?... The reason I ask is becuase I've actually had the studs coming down from the stock floor pan actually scrape on a driveway once or... one that goes downslope.
