I plan on dropping the floor pans in my '74 this winter and will buying the prefabricated pans from PanteraEast. I've read the article in tall man conversions. I will be cutting out the old pans with a plasma cutter and Mig welding the new pans in place. Any words of advice/caution from those who have done this mod would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, cool project, how much are the dropped floor pans? I plan to fabricate carbon fiber ones, maybe carbon fiber sandwiched with a nomex honeycome core. Mmm.. maybe I should juste do the whole floor instead as one piece heh..

Larry, it's great having you on this board. You bring fresh new ideas that are appreciated. Keep up the great work.
If the floor pan is practially flush with the frame rails. Won't the studs or screws attaching the seat rails to the tub stick out further then the frame rail? Or do you just weld the studs upside down or something?... The reason I ask is becuase I've actually had the studs coming down from the stock floor pan actually scrape on a driveway once or... one that goes downslope.
