the door rubber on top of doors which way is this installed please, the opening to outside or inside.

Please continue the battle, because I have new rubber on the shelf, and would like to know which way to install it?
My logic would be with opening outward, so it'll slide naturally when closing. But...the old rubber on my Pantera has opening to the inside.

well logic and fact seem to be coliding on this one.
i have put one on each way to look and the the facing inward looks best but catches on the frame when the door closes.the one facing out looks worse but shuts better. hmmmm

I seem to remember a previous discussion on this topic and the jist of it was that the way it came from the factory was facing inward and the problem was it caught on the frame. The TSB fix was to to change the weatherstrips side to side , reversing them and allowing for a better door close. ???

Can't find it in my TSB book...
I've just looked at my Longchamp, same system, and the opening is outwards. I'll do it that way when I change it on the Pantera

How is it done BTW, do you just rip out the old and insert the new, or what needs to be taken apart?
they pull out easily and can replace simply use something to lubricate, soapy water, etc. and i have a very blunt curved tool,like a bike tyre lever to run along the top side to help set in place.
be carefull not to over stretch the rubber as you can do damage to the welded corner seam. unfortunatly i know this from first hand experience, as i came back to the workshop to find one of my corner seams popped. super glue is a wonderful thing.
i didnt know i had over streched it on installation , but tried to replace once it was broken started in the corner by the time i was down to the front quater window the whole rubber had moved over two inches in the same direction, thus my streching prognosis.
