With Pantera cabin space at a premium, the garage door opener was always in the way. So, I opened it up, gutted the switch and soldered the contacts to create a constant closed position. I then cut off the 9-volt battery connector and replaced it with two male spade crimp-on connectors. As I do not use or even have the windshield washer bottle installed, I have the dash-mounted momentary-contact switch capable of supplying 12 volts to the front trunk. I drilled a hole in the opener case for wire entry, plugged the washer wiring into the opener's male connectors, stuck a piece of hook Velcro on the back of the opener, stuck it to the trunk carpet near the brake MC, and voila! Works like a charm.
Totally stealth installation, totally returnable to stock, needs no holes drilled or wires snaked through firewalls, totally cool :-) I used a universal opener, a Clicker CLT1, available all over town for less than $30 and on eBay for $10-$20. Most 9 volt items will do fine on short 12 volt exposure, so I don't see a problem there. Gutting and solder-shorting the micro switch to a constant-closed was the hardest part.
