quote:
As they say, if you didn't vote, you have no right to bitch.

You have a right to bitch as long as you pay taxes. Sometimes people don't vote because they don't know which crook to vote for. People shouldn't vote unless they've taken the time to read, listen and research the candidates that are running. If they haven't done that, then they should leave the voting to those that have.

I still enjoy reminding my father-in-law of the dangers of wasting his vote. A number of years ago he voted for one of the parties "to send a message to the other parties" - thinking that the 'team' he normally voted for would see a drop in their numbers and straighten up their act. Well, the little party got into power, and he spent the next 4 years complaining about them.
Well, A quick note from your friends north of the border on the selection of your new President.
I won't ask any of you to say whether you're pleased or disappointed with the results, but I do wish for all of you that the new administration makes decisions that improve things for you personally and that they act honestly and thoughtfully on behalf of the American people. They're at the helm, let's hope they handle the responsibility well and at the end of the term, I hope you'll find they did at least a few things right ... if nothing else, fixing the potholes on the interstates would be nice ... I'd be more likely to bring the cat across the border if I wasn't afraid it would be swallowed up after I got over the bridge - of course, our Canadian roads aren't pot-hole free either. ;-)

Cheers!
