Electric Choke

I've installed an electric choke on my Demon Carb, I am just
wondering were I could get a good switched +12v source from the back of the car.

Connect it to the "S" (Stator) terminal on the back of the alternator.

Can you explain to me how the elctric choke
works, do you need to switch of the power to the choke off when it has warmed up or do you leave the power on all the time?

Keep it powered full time while the motor is running. Its just a small electric heater, it generates a bit of heat, enough to make the bi-metal choke actuator open the choke within 1 to 2 minutes. Nothing gets cherry red hot. Its not enough to fry any parts, create a fire or anything like that.
