exhaust header leaks

I have Hall Big Bore headers and exhausts on my car and I am looking for recommendations for exhaust gaskets between the block and the headers. Hall originally sent the fibre type and they sprung an exhaust leak so I took it to a mechanic and I believe he sandwiched some type of metal gasket between 2 layers of fibre gasket. All was quiet for about 1500 - 2000 miles now it sounds like a lawnmower again (and a crappy one at that!!!) Any helpful suggestions?
