Ferrari IPO

I'm purposely avoiding the initial frenzy.

Personally not too crazy about Marchionne's plans to go 'volume', but that sure didn't hurt Porsche.

I have to say I'm interested - although not in a position to buy immediately purely because I've never traded shares before. BUT - I love the idea of being able to say something like "while I don't own a Ferrari - I do own a part of the Company"...

If you want to get the certificate

I called my stock broker last week to ask if I could get a paper copy and I was told that Ferrari like most all stocks are no longer issuing paper copies. I guess in the electronic age this is becoming the norm. Bummer.

I'm still keeping an eye on this one.

It's stupid for a company like Ferrari to not issue paper. There are many, maybe millions, that would buy a share just to have the stock certificate. It's like free money!

The Green Bay Packers do it just for that reason.

If you want a paper cert., buy however many shares you want. Then, when the shares are in your account, ask your broker to have them converted into a paper certificate.

the market price was pretty calm and trade volume low. once it steady out at $56, I was tempted, but after just having the discussion with FA to go to conservitive dividends, I hated to buy something based on passion without knowing the finacial bases.
