Sadly, There was a fatality. Sadly, I was more upset about my fence. This is on the outside of a turn in the 4 lane a mile from the dragstrip. The driver left the strip, and must have been going 100 mph when he ran into the back of a pickup just out of the turn, spun, left roadway, clipped a telephone pole in half, rolled a couple of times and landed on my open gate. They blocked the road for 2 hours. 1 got flown out in helicopter 2 left in ambulance, and 1 in a bag. Now if I could just find out the insurance co. Speed Kills!
update: No insurance on the driver or the owner. I called Allstate to file it on my "uninsured motorists protection" My agent of 23 years told me that that coverage was for my car only, and I would have to file it under my homeowners with a 2500$ deductable. I told him it was not my residance, but a rental property and hung up on his ass. What? Am I supposed to have uninsured motorists protection on my home? I then called the claims office....they put me on hold while they tried to find a way to weasal out of it. but came back and said I had $250 deductable. I filed a claim for $3800. I rebuilt the gate at my own expense. I hate the insurance companies...I'll let you know if I get a check...
