I suppose it is that attitude that has put the USA where it is today.

WOW V8 Capri, a little strong don't you think? We've ALL HAD unnecessary difficulties mailing abroad, a hassle he's CHOSEN to avoid. Dissing his choice and our country doesn't exactly aid in cooperation.

Funny you never noticed our narrow-mindedness when you've needed help on this board.
V8 CAPRI ... Tough words ... our country is where it is ??? Tell me where do you think we are ? Sitting on the most OIL in the word ? The richest country in the world ? Still able to defend ourselves ? I dont know about the rest on this board ... but I have been all over the world and I would sign up and fight in Iraq tomorrow if I were asked at 42. Also ever think why we have a VOLUNTEER Military ?

You know why we dont ship out of the country ..because in other countries the POST is pillage time for the natives working in those depts in other countries ?

Do yourself a favor retract that statement.

Ron
I will retract the statement, however I will say that I have sent items overseas without any hassles, recieved payments via overseas and vice versa.
I, like many others don't understand the complications of sending stuff overseas.
The first Pantera I was to buy, the deal was fine till he found out I was from overseas, luckily the owner of the car I have now, didn't see it the same way, and understood there was cleared funds in his account and a tow truck picking the car up.
Perhaps someone can explain what the complications are so us 'dumb ' aussies can see.

Yet it is the help from the broad mided people on this board who have helped me, and for that I am very grateful. Luckily they were willing to put a different country on the parcel.Smiler
I want to thank all for defending my choice on selling and shipping this item.I am 65 yds old had quad bypass surgery and at this point in my life i don't need the hassle of shipping something out of the country where it may take 2 extra weeks for arrival with numerous emails from irate buyers as to where is my stuff.Been there done it and i don't need the stress.

The broad-minded people on this board includes many Americans. Maybe you noticed that.

Some of us aren't fond of filling out enough overseas forms to fill an adult Kangaroo's pouch four times over to make certain we're not sending anything to anyone who might be tempted to a) Steal it for themselves b) Blow something up with it c) Circumvent YOUR tax code or d) Become addicted to it. That's why.

Many times, the smallest detail - regardless of contents - will cause the package to magically imitate one of Australia's better known inventions: the boomerang.

Hope this is clear. I also hope your manners have come back to you.
Ok I apologise for my initial comment, however A Hudson your last comment has shown me how you regard yourself and your fellow countrymen. As long as you think you rule the world I am sure you rest well at night.
And to all the others who survived filling in a customs form we ( those not lucky enough to live in the USA) thank you Smiler

My kangaroo has just hopped back in with my manners, so i will be nice now Smiler

Peace out , it is not a war !
V8Capri,

My son is a musician that makes extra money as a guitar broker. He has learned over time that some countries are extremely difficult to ship to. Australia happens to be one of these countries. Only certain carriers will ship at a reasonable (?) cost and require boat loads of paper work. It is not always as simple as we might imagine. I understand your frustration, but for an individual in some cases it is not worth the hassle.

That being said I would not diss the USA. We have our issues but NO country is as charitable, and giving as ours. Maybe you need to think about where the world would be today without the USA. How is your command of Japanese?

PS: Is it true that Australia will not give any jobs to people unless they are an Australian citizen? And why is this?
Thank you for explaining it, however I have had many items for work and play sent from USA. ALL with no hassles.
I use USPS as i was told they are quite easy to work with.
We were taught Japanese at school !
Oh the jobs side, that is not true, however you must have a working visa.We import specialists from all over the world to fill jobs.
Wow how off topic that has come !!
Lucky Joules has bought the tanks !
I'm glad your kangaroo has come back home... Having had issues with foreign buyers that were less than honorable; we as sellers have the choice to sell where-ever is best for us, the seller. Bob, I'm glad you have them sold.

Since this forum is hosted in th USA let's all refrain from making negative comments about my / our country and respect the rights of any seller.

Try a little sugar next time ... heres a story ... I bought a unrestored Boss 302 mustang down in TAMPA ... I got the car home noticed a set of wheel covers in the trunk ... I thought these things are from a MACH1 ..so I sold them on ebay .. I order the MARTY REPORT and to my dispare ... my car is 1 of 2 that came with wheel covers ? So I email the buyer back told him the sitaution and told him I would pay for them inclusive of all the cost, fees, shipping and reshipping back ... he said thanks for being honest .. the wheel covers belong on that car and sold them back to me for minimual cost.

Moral to the story be nice and honest and I'm sure those tanks would have been shipped and on there way to you !

Your apology is accepted. Everyone missteps. My last comment was about your manners, which are a human code, not a geographical one. I rest plenty well; thanks for your concern.

PM me if you've got more to discuss.
An awfully long thread for a set of SS tanks!

Personally I have been fortunate enough to have lived and worked in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and most of S. America and I never regret one minute of my time with the people or experiences in any of those places. Each has it's own beauty and uniqueness, it is our differences that make us truly individuals and it is our experiences that define us. In an 'Idealistic World' there would be something good from each of those places.

Live & let live, enjoy life and most importantly get out and drive your Pantera, that is the one thing we do all have in common.

Oh BTW I got a deal on a really nice pair of SS tanks, (just to keep my post on topic) Big Grin
