I've had my Flowkooler 333-180 on back order from Summit for a while now. Luckily a fellow Pantera owner had one that he sent to me. I'll probably end up ordering a few once the company has them back in stock. Maybe in the future, I'll be able to return the favor for another P owner.
markcharltonOld enough to know better and still young enough not to care. My '71 Pantera
Odd. When I re-checked my link I realized that FlowKooler is ONLY showing the 192° T-Stat for the Cleveland now. Makes me wonder if they stopped making the 333-180° that I ordered last year. Hmmm
I have read that 180 degrees is to cool for an engine's operating temp. Oil operates better at a higher temp and less cylinder wall wear occurs at temps above 192. The higher temp thermostat is better.
I suppose the 180 degree thermostat was championed when Peoples' Panteras had inadequate cooling capabilities and it was felt that the thermo opening earlier provided a margin of improvement. I believe it essentially a wivestale.
