I have the sound of a loud dry creaking noise, like metal against metal, passenger side front. All bushings are brand new, shocks are brand new and nuts have been loosened to test for overtightness. Can it be a ball joint? PI says no. So what else can produce this noise, only once I have driven a couple miles and hit bumps. Thanks for any help. Tom

Have you checked the inter fender splash shield ? Your horns may be on the passenger side front splash shield behind the wheel & tire, the shield may be coming loose and the weight of the horns and air pump maybe causing it to move up & down when you hit bumps and making the noise.
Just a thought.

I have this too on all wheels. On wet roads the car is quiet, when warm and dry it creaks and groans like an old sailing ship (and drives me nuts!).
I'm certain that it is the polyurethane bushes. I've just bought some factory original rubber bushes to replace them (not fitted yet). It costs about $900 to replace every piece of rubber in the suspension including the anti-roll/sway bar bushes using original parts.
Thankyou for all the replys. I do have new poly bushings and have sprayed everything with silicone, nothing has helped. The creaking sounds to serious to be a loose shield. I can feel it as well by driving very slowly over a high bump. The noise has that up and down feel if you know what I mean. Could it be a ball joint? PI wants a lot of money for new ones. Thanks again, Tom
Could it be rotational i.e. louder and/or higher pitched the fast you go?

If you park the car then lift up and push down on the front bumper, do you hear the sound?

The swaybar mounts can make a noise somewhat like metal on metal. I put some teflon tape and lube on my front swaybar under the mount points which took care of the noise for a while.
...Yes!! I had the same noise. Everytime I hit a bump or pulled out of my driveway; I would hear a metal to metal Tap/Bang. It was the passenger side 'cooling tube', hitting against the anti-sway bar!! You'll find that it is positioned THAT close. The solution: Split a piece of heater hose about 3 inches long and 'tie-wrap-it' around the sway-bar, at that point. Ahhh, Silence!!
I found the source of my Pantera's creaking and groaning noises by jacking my Pantera up and down with a hydraulic trolley jack. IF the poly bushes are the problem you will hear a slow creaking as the a-arms move up and down.
The tricky part is getting the jack under the chassis!

The noise mine makes also has an "up and down feel".
