Jack do you know where I can get the kit or the parts from the kit to change my 71's front spindles to a cassle nut and cotter pin setup. Or do you (or anyone) know what size the nut is? thanks for your help.Paul...
All the vendors sell the proper later spindle nut assembly, but 100% of these require you to drill a 0.040" or so hole in your spindle for the cotter pin, since there is no hole currently. The hole is outboard of the hub, so there is zero influence on spindle strength. Call a few vendors or check some web sites for prices on the nuts-'tain't much.
