Hi, I need some input from those that have installed 245/45/16 size tires on the front of their cars. On my first ride with them the driver side tire caught the fender lip on my driveway approach, causing a previous repair to pop open. I wondered why the passenger side was not hitting so I checked the ride height. Holding a tape to the fender lip at the center of the wheel I found that I have 24 1/16" clearance on the driver side and have 24 7/16" clearance on the passenger side. In other words, the driver side fender is 1/2" closer to the rubber than the passenger side. The car sits level in the front, the adjustable height shocks are both set the same and all gaps are even. Is Italian craftsmanship to blame? When I have the fender repaired and painted, should I try to pull it out, or up, or roll in the lip some more? I did not think this tire size was too extreme. Your advice will be helpful - Thanks!
