Where and which is the best system to make an external fuel filler neck?

To convert to the L model filler is a major parts gathering chore. Major.

Vendors sell an aluminum curved filler neck that bolts to top of gas tank and makes filling very easy with rear deck lifted up. About $100 if I recall correctly.

Approx cost??

of L model parts... lot$ plus lot$ more Frowner

Not to be argumentative, I converted to the late L external system.
It is simple and you only need a few parts.
You can in fact use your existing gills and merely use a 4 " hole saw on a drill press and use an aftermarket filler cap.
It isn't that expensive.
Of course you could take the expensive way and by a 74 Pantera and take off all the parts you need.
External filler gills and hardware sell on Ebay for $500+ and you still need to modify the body behind the gill. I believe that Marlin Jack modified gills to fit the newer aircraft/racing type gas caps and he said it took extensive machining to make it look and fit good (and his did look good) I guess either way, its going to cost you as does just about everything on this car.
Here's the link, hope it works, some info from when I did mine

Fuel filler caps (aero), Web site looks kind of cheesy but the product quality is excellent, good stuff. The “Aero 300” fits the shock opening perfectly…. 3.70”, some have went with bigger. Do not even think about using one of those Aston/Monza caps on your Pantera as it is a violation of the basic “Man Laws”
