Are you certain it's the gauge rather than the sender?

The senders on the pickup go out and the rheostat wiring winding on it can not be repaired.

Better than 95% probability it is the sender/pickup assembly.

That is why I asked and Wilkinson has tooled up and reproduced the senders.

Yes, I have one here. You need to calibrate the float though, i.e., bend the rod until the gauge reads right.

I do not have a stock gauge...looking to replace an aftermarket one.

I think there are a few on eBay right now for sale, including one I listed!
