finished installing fuel tank, i connected the wires to sender, and the gauge is pinned at FULL,and the tank is completely empty.i disconnected the wires to sender ,and gauge still reads full when ignition key is on, dont know if the gauge is good, car was not running and was dissasembled when i bought it, i'm just sorting out the electrical system before i reinstall engine..........THANX GUYS......DAVE

I'm not the expert here..... I belive the guage works via resistance. The wire from the sending unit sends a signal that is resisted to ground. You should be able to remove that wire from the guage and it goes to empty. By grounding the wire that leaves the guage.....the guage should peg full/ maybe your wire is shorted to ground on the wat to the tank.
