I received very sad news this evening that my friend and long time POCA member and CHPIE president, GARY POWLEY passed away. From what his ex-wife said, Gary had a massive heart attack earlier this evening and died very shortly thereafter. For those of you that never met Gary he was a heck of a DeTomaso enthusiast.

His blown all black Pantera with the blown motor could always be found with Gary at most of the big SoCal car shows like the Knotts Berry Farm "All Ford" Show or the Huntington Beach Concourse. Gary also raced his car at Vegas and Willow Springs. He just loved that car. A week ago we had another great conversation on the telephone about racing and what he and CHPIE were doing with the Las Vegas Fremont Street Display later this month.

The memorial service is scheduled for THIS Saturday at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster. Kaye thought the service would start at 9AM but if you are able to attend you should check with the funeral home there....

The address for the memorial is;

14801 Beach Blvd.

Alright, thats about it....sorry to be the one passing on the bad news.

Gary was one of the good guys. He will be missed but he will always be remembered too!

Dennis Antenucci, POCA President
