I'm now working on an article on the instrumentation used in the various DeTomaso models.

There is a large number of variants, and I'd like to document as many as I can (with good clear images). If you have a Non-USA DeTomaso, I would appreciate it if you would send some images of your gauges!

Also, I have one pic of the white-faced VDO, (in a Pantera). One of you that has changed your gauges, can you share what you learned?

I'll post a link of my first draft shortly.

Mine has white faced VDO gauges.
it has no ampmeter, but a volt meter instead.
I did not do it, the car came that way.
The fuel level gauge reads backwards as well, ie full is empty and empty is full !
Also the volt gauge only ever goes from 10-12 volts, yet it charges the battery ok !

The fuel gauge can be set to work correctly.

I believe Thomas, Tom, or Tomas, from Scandinavia created a very accurate solution.

I suggest you create a new post on that subject in the appropriate forum.

Here's a photo of my water gauge. It is, in fact, a VDO gauge, with a VDO sender, but I put the original Veglia face on it. Took me five hours on the kitchen table. Hardest part was matching the needle color. -Steve

FYI Im getting ready to do the exact chage over to my Pantera, excepot Im going to run a mechanical water temp. If ya needs pics or whatever elase let me know
The Fuel gauge that reads backwards is whoever installed the fuel send unit got the incorrect ohm fuel unit and thats the reason it backwards
