Thanks George for the kind words. I had a great time with you on Sat. I have to say I feel privledged to know you, your a wealth of knowledge, along with being just a great guy!
Charlie and Alex thought your car was "sick", (that means good). This BB is very lucky to have someone like you around.

I ordered the rebuild kit for the carb. I'm not so sure how to test a power valve, but I'll replace it along with some of those gaskets I've reused. I didn't get my dist. yet, maybe today. I'll let you know how everything turns out. I'll give you a call. Have a good day!!!

Doug, Gary, Michael...

Thanks for the kind words, really. As I've written before, my reward is being able to help where I can. I enjoy the comradery we share on the PIBB. I know Doug that you & I shall hang out some more. Besides making a mean margarita, I enjoyed hanging with you. It was nice of Julie to give us the time to hang out. I hope Gary & Michael that we'll be able to hang out some day as well, maybe at Vegas, first round is on me, OK?!

So my Pantera is "sick"? I was told once it was a "pimpin" set of wheels Eeker , that was supposed to be a good thing too! LOL

Gary, I never claimed to be GQ material! Now I'll have to find a picture of some male hunk like Fabio and post that as my avatar Cool ! LOL

I look forward to it George!.

Gary
Kevin, DeTom, thank you, gosh. Thanks so much.

Your comradery and experience are equally valued by me.

I consider the PIBB to be like hanging out at a virtual garage. Shootin' the breeze with the boys, solving each other's problems, telling a good joke, sharing a story. There are good people on here from No America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, South Africa & Malaysia; all hanging out because we share a passion for DeTomaso automobiles. Man is that cool or what?

Drinks are on me guys, when we meet up! Have you ever tried a buttery nipple? Ahhh, a bit of heaven on earth.

George,
What did I start? Hope we haven't embarrassed you to bad.
Got the carb rebuild kit last night. I installed new power valve, new needle valve and gaskets.
Got in, and once the bowl filled up, it fired right up, with no leaks. Still haven't gotten my new dist. and stuff. Hopefully tomorrow.
Say, what are you going to do with 750 you brought over? Wink
Doug, I'm relieved to read the carb troubles are resolved. Wahooo! Always best to fix one problem before you bolt on something else. I'll drink a buttery nipple tonight to celebrate! Heck, maybe two or three!

That was very fast service on your carb rebuild kit, were did you purchase it? Should have used them for the distributor! Smiler

got your eyes on my 750 dp? You're not developing a "horsepower" itch are you? Eeker

I was in touch with Bob at Scat crankshafts this week, he recently had a customer build a 393 Windsor (3.85" stroker crank), AFR 195cc heads, mild hydraulic roller cam (236 degres intake duration at 0.050" lift), edelbrock air gap intake & 750 demon carb; 490 bhp @ 5800 rpm. He brought that up because I've begun talking to him about the specifics for my stroker kit of the same displacement, and this engine had similar goals as mine. My thoughts at this time are an externally stock looking 351C that idles & runs as smoothly as a stock engine but packs 50% more bhp (~450 bhp). Running my Boss intake & 4300D carb (I hope Confused). The extra displacement will wake up the throttle response of the 4V heads, as will the extra 0.100" lift of the roller cam. Do you think a motor like that would appeal to anyone else? Wink

Tell Charlie, Alex & Julie I said hi.

and here I'm happy with my cold heiny this evening...

sounds like a perfect alternative! thanks. Big Grin

hiccup.
George,
I ordered the kit on Mon. from Car Quest on Thompson. Pretty fast service. I'm a little pissed though, I found the same kit online for $17, they charged me $35. Oh well...

That motor from Scat sounds "sick"! However, I like your thoughts on your motor. Stock looking fire breather. Have you heard of John Kaase? He's the guy who won that Engine Build-off with a cleveland. Go to his website, johnkaase.com.

So are you planing to use that 750dp on your new engine? I guess I'm getting bit a little by the horsepower bug. I personally think it's to much carb for my application. we'll talk later....

BTW, have a great bithday weekend, I will have at least one margarita for you and just might have to get the ingredients for a "Buttery Nipple"
