Will,

I am running a one wire 105 amp GM alternator with the internal regulator which I bought through BNR Parts. The model I purchased was CS 130 D. It ran $100 plus shipping. I know that Eastwood’s and some of the vendors also sell a similar GM alternator.

I believe my “generator light” is working properly but since this is my first Pantera and the fact that it came in pieces, I am just assuming. My car is not here at the house, but from memory the light on the dash will light when the ignition key is turned one click but once the motor is running the light turns off. Is this the way it is supposed to function?

By the way, I spoke to Quella about the belt alignment with this alternator and he said that they shave down the main mounting ear slightly and then space it back slightly so that the alignment is straight.

Let me know if I can provide anymore information.

Will,

I had a chance to run down and work on my Pantera a little tonight. The generator light works just as I described previously.
I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I am running the alternator relocation bracket that moves the alternator behind the passenger seat firewall. This is the bracket that some of the vendors sell when you install the bulkhead reduction kit. I don’t know if this makes a difference in the model number of the alternator you use or not but I thought I would pass it on.
