"Stolen" from an old 2007 topic:

Has anybody some more pictures of this particular car? Is it a factory paint - I don't think so he...? Looks more like a Mustang color to me.

How does the Longchamp "oro metallic" look, and how about the beige, and Avorio Safari? Has someone pictures of any of those colours (or similar ones)?

I looked at that car when I was researching colors for my car - I really like it.

In early 1971, a beige metallic V503 was available for panteras. I know for sure that cars actually came in that color, as my car had it underneath. The color is still available from PPG - I had it test sprayed recently.

The color in the picture is the original V503 beige metallic on one of my headlight buckets as it appeared underneath several layers of paint.

A question on paint, are there some pro painters out there? I'm thinking about painting my Pantera yellow. But not just yellow, the hi-glow, hi-light yellow that some fire trucks have. I've earlier painted my street/strip Camaro that colour, first white, then the special and expensive yellow, then clear coat.

When it just rolled out of the paint booth it was amazing. It was almost glowing in the dark, and if you drove it early in the morning with some sun on it dew on the hood, you couldn't see anything. That year my car was featured in magazines at car shows, because of the colour alone "bright as the sun" they wrote.

Now to the question. It lasted about 1½ year, then the yellow faded to white on the fenders. And I've also noticed that some mopeds that have a similar orange paint here in Denmark, they tend to fade very fast. Is that avoidable? Or are these colours just too sensitive to the sun?

(The picture doesn't do the color justice)

Are you researching colors for your pantera ??

I still think you should go for the Lime green V307 that I seem to remember your car originally came in !!! Big Grin Big Grin - awesome color !!

I am, although a respray will not happen in the near future. I'm still in the process of collecting parts/buying new goodies.

But, if I think to have found the right color now, and still think it is the right color then, then it should be the right choice no Big Grin

I want it to look 70's, and the color should fit my chrome trim, and black...

That might be just a bit too much of it... Big Grin

It's hard, if not impossible to judge colors based on pictures. Any given color will look different on a dozen pictures. It happened that I go like wooow, and a minute later have my doubts already about the same color based upon an other pic.

I like the V503, but wonder how the chrome trim will look in a combination with that color - I like contrasts Smiler

I'd like to see more of the cat in my first post...
