Well, after many years of careful ownership my beautiful blue Pantera 2281 will be making a new owner in Holland very happy. That is the good news. The sad news is that is leaving my garage.

But, back on the good news (well, for me) front, Pantera 6776 is joining my stable as the resident "modified" Extreme Pantera. Mixed emotions but I am really happy that 2281 is going to a very passionate new owner, and that 6776 has filled the void.

Here is 2881 being loaded to deliver to the shipper.

Hi! Rocky, The ‘Je Me Souviens’ is still on there, but only in the province eeastcof Ontario, which is Quebec Wink
Im going to miss that car. Great power ( 434 RWHP), 377 and taller 5th, leather, suspension, GR5 swaybars,EFI,etc, and of coarse those incredible 180's. The only negative is that you couldn't leave it anywhere. Crowds of people wherever it goes.
It couldn't have gone to a better guy. Mark, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
In the passed 20 years of ownership ( 2 cars), I was able to make so many new friends, locally and afar. Some of you I have not met in person but I feel that I know very well.
Life has changed for me and so has my car direction but I'll always have a spot in my heart for these beautiful cars. I cant remember last week but I can remember the first time I saw a Pantera at 15 years young and knew I had to have one.
Don't count me out completely.Im hoping my Canadian Pantera brothers still call me for gathering as they are an incredible bunch. I may even join them in a gathering in the US if that happens again. Just look for the short, fat guy that usually says too much.Come over and say hello. Id like to meet those that Ive spent so much time with, online, but have never met. Also, thanks George for the forum. It allowed me to meet such wonderful people.
All the best, my friends. Enjoy and be safe.
I'll still be lurking here and there.

Buyer of 2281 was actually considering buying my Pantera, but was by a Pantera "friend" of mine told of Mark's car, even though Mark's car was not advertised. A bit annoying, and my "friend" is now off the Xmas card list. With friends like these... Wink

But I know Mark's car is fine as well

So congratulations Mark both on the sale and on the purchase. Your purchase looks like a bloody fast mirror
Thanks for all the kind words guys.

You may be like me, I sold my stock body orange car after many years cuz the narrow body just didn't do it for me anymore. Nothin wrong with stock body however.

True. Jay Leno's car is almost the same blue. It's from a 2005 Ford GT and is one of the nicest blues I have ever seen on a Pantera. I too like both the wide and narrow cars, which is why I only sold ONE of my narrow cars. Big Grin

New guy, you have an mazing Pantera. It's really really fast.

Matt, I am no "new guy" but agree that I have an amazing car in this one. BTW, it will still be kicking ass on the 401. And the 417, the 416, the 440.....

As I understand it Mikael, your amazing car was firmly in a different price bracket, and only after realizing he needed to look at "lesser" cars, did mine come up. But I agree about the "fast mirror". The paint is so shiny it is intimidating. I swore I'd never own another black car, but who could pass this one up?

Nice! Very impressive.

(You should have kept the narrowbody, even though you also have the white one!)

Ha, Ha, Ha. My wife is awesome, but even SHE has her limits! No, my "lower" workshop (in my house) has a fireplace and huge windows, which can feel like a living room at times. David is referring to the new workshop/garage that I am almost finished building (finishing stages now). Apparently solvents/paints etc. are "frowned upon" when used inside the house. Eeker And I will (hopefully) never sell my white car (first child and all that...), but the blue car was always intended to be my "perfectly modified" Pantera. I had no intention of selling it but things aligned extremely nicely to allow me to move into a wide body car for a reasonable (all things are relative) upgrade cost. My preference was always a GT5-S, but the sale prices have been verging on insane at the last couple of auctions (no need to debate this as I know others still feel they are "under-priced" at $300K) but they are not "worth" that much money to me.

Mark
Hey Matt. Not only does Mark live in Ottawa, but he’s photographed just about every Canadian Pantera a dozen times. Including yours.

I’ve been at Pantera events with him for the past 14 or 15 years.

And since you got your cat so have you. You’ve seen Mark in his white car and blue one and probably in his Longchamps as well. You and Mark we’re together in Kingston at the Marina as well as the first time you came out with your car to an A&W on the 401.

All those years and undiluted exhaust fumes will affect our memories so below are a couple of links (in no particular order) to remind you.

http://pantera.infopop.cc/eve/...562/m/5431067946/p/2

We’ve seen Will with his first bronze Pantera and then his yellow screamer before he ended up with that Group 4 beast that he just passed on to Mark.

Flip thru the Canadian Forum as well as the Event Photos Forum and you’ll see all of us thru the years. And we have Mark to thank for capturing it all on film. Lots of history with Canadian Pantera owners. Now that I’ve finally finished XXXX I’m planning to get back to organizing Canadian get together. You’ll have to join us more often this summer.

As alway, Mark has a lot of cats to choose from and as he has done many times before will likely lend one his to those owners who haven’t managed to get their car back together yet - or decided to part with theirs. I’m sure we’ll see Will out this year ...NOT in a ‘Vette!

Hello , I am the ,,friend" who dont get a Christmas cart any more .

The only thing I can say is that on the moment when there is one serious interested party on your car what is for sale try to make a deal and not hold to strong on your asking price.
Take your provit and let it go when you really want to sell .
There comes maybe not a second chance for a while.

And believe me , I know where I am talking about .

I am still glad to help the old and new owner whit selling and buying this beautyfull Pantera .

All the best for everybody,
Simon

Simon, please keep your advice to yourself. I didn't mention your name as I thought you wanted to keep anonymous on this matter. I have the mail from you where you promise me one thing and end up doing another, and it starts with "Please between us,", and that's how I've kept it, but please don't go on trying to justify.

I think you should butt out. I don't think you have any place neither advising buyers nor sellers. Especially when one mail starts with "Please between us". Others may disagree, no problem, and come to you for advice since you have so many Panteras, but I've found you unable to give objective advice, and I don't want you involved in any way with any car I'm buyer or seller of.

At the time you guided Matthijs towards Mark's Pantera, I was trying to convince Matthijs to come to Denmark to see/hear/feel my Pantera, and then we would maybe have made a deal. Maybe not. We'll never know. But you guided him towards buying something else, without ever having seen it in real life. Having bought and sold also a few special cars through the years, I've never seen anything like this before.

And I understand that you and Matthijs will share a container with Panteras from Canada to Holland. How convenient.
Mikael,
That ,,dont share" message between us was that I was trying both of you come closer to a deal.

Also I dont share a car into the same shipping container as the Pantera , only advice Matthijs about the shipping and taxes.

You are totally wrong and I want stop this discussion on public.

Good luck whit the sale of your Pantera.

No it wasn't and if you keep claiming that, you force me to make it public, even though it was sent to me in confidentiality

We can stop the discussion. All I want is you never get involved in my car transactions again
Mikael your car is nice no doubt and I get why you get so bitter when a sale goes down the drain. But I think a more positive attitude would actually help you sell the car. What you probably have achieved by the punitive tone is to scare some people away who could in term perhaps help you to sell the car. This forum is intended to help people and that also counts for good advice in finding the right car and at a price you can afford. Some loose some win and I am sure one day there is a guy with a fat wallet that falls in love with your Safire. If you are desperate to sell then lowering the price may help.
Time to introduce myself as the new happy and proud Dutch owner of Mark's 2281. Another 3 weeks of sleepless nights, before I can get the car at the harbor of Amsterdam. I can't wait....

Nice to read all your positive comments. It proves that I bought a beautiful, great Pantera. And it surely confirms my gut feeling on the buy.

Special thanks to Mark, for being a gentleman in preparing the car to my wishes and making it ready for its shipment. It was a great pleasure to do business together.

I also would like to take the opportunity to give my point of view on the discussion between Mikael and Simon. First of all, the car I was looking for was meant to fit in my budget.
I had read the price discussion on Mikael's car on this forum and noticed it would be quite far above my aim. I called a Dutch friend (former Pantera owner) for his opinion. He advised me to have matching numbers and engine wise, as standard as possible. It will still be fast enough! He tipped me on a car in Belgium, a nice quality standard car. But it was red :-( and still a bit above budget.
So I continued my search and then the contact with Simon started. He noticed my thoughts about Mikeal's car and introduced Mark's car.

Just to be clear. Mikael's Pantera is surely a very nice car. But for me, the price and engine are too much. And I have given this feedback to Mikael. Mark's car on the other hand, was love at first sight. And we agreed on the price. So the decision was fully mine and not manipulated by Simon at all.

A picture of the 2281 between the Dutch tulips will follow soon! :-)

So the buyer chimes in. With this quote above. But I have a mail from Matthijs that says: "If I would not have been able to make the deal with Mark, I would have returned to you."
OK, I've had enough. Postings in here contrary to what I have in documentation, and people that has nothing to do with it, have not the facts, but plenty of opinion. I hope the Matthijs-Mark's car combination ends up being a great combination. Really. But I don't like the "undercover" dealings that has been going on IMO. But for me, it can end now.

So when I say I had enough, I'll take myself off the daily list. My primary reason was to help people out on my area of expertise, engine tuning, but for me it's been more frustration than fun. So if anybody wants to contact me, you gotta pm me. I may post from time to time with questions, but I'll read only that topic then.

Sigh of relief heard all across the world? Wink
Congratulations Mark, I remember first time I saw Derrick's (I think that was his name) car in Kingston, had my eyes popping beautiful car and that color was really made for the car. Then again Will did a fantastic job on his group4 looks & color are great, anyone would lust for either, you had and have the pleasure to have them both at some time in your stable with your other amazing collection. I guess some day you will add the GT5S I hope for you sooner and not later. Again congratulations. Rob6145
