Can anyone provide me with the Carello part numbers, housing, lens, etc - for the small chrome, round, hooded lights used to illuminate the Goose license plate?

Carello part, original I think to 65-74 Alfa GT/GTV cars.

Can anyone confirm the photo below is the correct light?

Thanks!

Larry

Yes. That last one (only) looks right.

The "correct" lights based on numbers "should" be the 10.542.02 units. There are two styles that look almost the same, they key difference being the opening where light escapes. On the Mangusta, you need the more "open" style.

I don't know if there were variations used (this was De Tomaso...), but I am fairly certain that these are correct for some original cars, having viewed detailed photos of very original cars having these exact lights.

See below.

Thanks, Terry.

I talked with Steve Liebenow at the PCNC meeting last night.

He said the deTomaso version of the light had two round holes for mounting to the threaded holes in the bumpers.

He went on to say that the common version of these lights, the one that comes with the studs, will show square holes when the studs are removed, allowing them to be installed on a Goose.

Being a deTomaso, it seems likely that even if special non-stud versions were made for the Mangustas, once they were gone (either at the factory or years later), knocking the studs out to make a serviceable light would be the way to go.

Daryl Adams wrote me with this info from his lights:

SAE L 63
A 25008
F. CARELLO
LG M3125LT
10 462 019

Yours was:

SAE L 63
A 25008
IGM 3199LT
F CARELLO
10.462.019

Just scratching the surface, there seems to be at least three versions of this light, all the 'open' shade style, currently on a Mangusta.

Once mounted, they all appear the same except for the stamped numbers.

I've come to the conclusion pinning down just one part number as 'correct' probably just isn't going to happen.

Thanks for the feedback,

Larry

here is one that matches Terry's numbers, except it has no "A 25008" markings. And it has studs.

Thanks for sharing and clarifying this Larry. When I was searching I could only find a light that matched in appearance without knowing the correct DT version number. While mine do have the wrong studs that's an easy fix is one can't obtain the other number.
