I also have the 32 Valve Weslake Chevy which is due to be finished soon. It is at John Beck's Pro Machine right now. This is one of three complete engines originally built. Plans in 1974 were to cast 100 pairs of heads to be sold by Don Yenko. However only ten pairs were in fact cast of which three pairs were used on the original engines. Four heads were destroyed in testing. The other two complete engines are in the Speedway Motors museum in Lincoln NE. I have a pair of unmachined heads that came with my engine. The Weslake Chevy engine was featured on the cover of the May 1974 Hot Rod magazine with an extensive article inside showing how it uses Y shaped shaft mounted rockers to operate 32 valves from 16 pushrods.

On the subject of rare engines I have posted images of a De Tomaso prototype engine I owned for a number of years under the thread title 'Mangusta prototype engine' on the photo forum - worth a look as it shows characteristics which suggest that it was a precursor to the Gurney Weslake conversions, however Harry Weslake would not confirm or deny when I mentioned it - just a wry smile. I had a goose for a short time and had intended to marry the two. That however never happened.
