Hall Pantera msd distributor

What did your ignition timing tell you? If it's suddenly later than normal, as indicated by the backfire, could be dist pin problem or even worn gear?

Tony, which MSD are you running? If it's the MSD #8577 then the MSD #8203 Blaster Coil is the right one. At least so it has been for me, flawless now in its 13th year.

If you can identify which MSD ignition module is installed in your car, you can go to the MSD web site and find a PDF file for the instructions for that module. The instructions will include a list of MSD coils recommended for that module.

Hi guys ,all the parts are new as this is a complete rebuild of this car that I brought in a pile of rusty boxes (I must have been mad )anyway the car is almost finished and I just wanted to check on the coil that you guys recommend as I got a ready to run hall dissy and it came with a fairly standard looking black coil and wanted to check that in would not blow my distributor .i think the backfire is the result of my carb a Holley 670 street avenger not being set up as its new and I am running a torker manifold but on the advice of dan jones I am changing to a duel plane and setting everything up for that manifold … I will let you know how it goes tony
