Hall Ultra Wheels

I have Gary Hall's catalogs from the late 80's and early 90's.  He had several different wheel center designs that were available.   All had the center "fake" knock off spinners and cones that covered the lug nuts.   The 3-eared spinners said "ULTRA" on some versions I have seen (unlike the set for sale on BaT right now - or the paint on them has covered it up).   I have seen numerous sets of Ultra wheels over the years on cars and never seen another maker copy Gary's unique center cone and knock  off.  

Personally, I have a set of custom made Gotti 3-piece rims on my car which are still being made in France.  Unlike the Ultra Wheels, they feature a 32 bolt design.

I convinced my father to “update” his GTS that he bought new in 1996 to larger diameter wheels. He added the Hall Ultras seen here. Ironically, now that the car is in my ownership, I want to put his original Campys back on.

74gts, I actually like how it looks.  But I would like it even more if the Hall wheels did not have those stupid spinners.  Never liked them, which is one of the biggest reasons I spent a good amount of money to get the Group IV wheels from Roin Technologies in Italy.

I don't think these wheels are the Ultra Wheels.  I thought these are the Hall Mark 8 wheels.  Still from Hall, but different construction.  Billet centers (very thick), and welded to the hoops, IIRC.

These are what mine look like.  Really like them actually.  I think they would look even better without the spinners.  I am going to try to see if I can have a metal fabricator friend of mine build a center that would accept the Pantera logo and not use the spinners and that cone.

Fuzz, before you do that, mount a front wheel on the car, to see how much the spindle protrudes through the center hole in the wheel.

@Fuzz - LEt me know if t=you have new centers made.  I might be interested in a set.  I agree, the wheels look nice, but the center cone sticks out to far on the front wheels.  The only reason I am getting rid of mine, is because they don't work with my new break set up.  Larry

Larry, I have a friend who is an UNBELIEVABLE metal fabricator.  He builds the things mere mortals could only dream of.  He is the owner/operator of a metal fabrication shop about a mile from my house and has built one-off parts for my cars over the years.  I will take one of my wheels to him this week and see what he comes up with.  Usually when I tell him what I want, he will take my idea and make it a thousand times better.

David, I was thinking that too.  I will definitely do that.  Thank you though.  Great minds think alike. 

Fuzz,  Thank you keep me posted.  I like guys like your friend, give them an idea and let the artist run with it.
