handbrake

Currently my 1982 gt5 needs a handbrake.The rear brakes are ap racingbrakes.I still have the brake lever in place and cable .I want to go for the billet type available but dont know what is involved to instal.Do i need a new cable?Will the thickness of the disc rotors suit?And where do i get the complete set up from?Emmanuel sydney australia.

I don't know if it will work on your '82 but I bought the caliper and cable from Marino at Pantera East (727-381-1151). For my '71 it was a direct swap. You have to use a new cable as the connections are different than stock (at least for my '71). He requires dimensions for the disc diameter and thickness to make the adapter so I think it would work with your setup.

The current issue of PI magazine has an ad from Pantera Performance for an ebrake caliper. It's the one I am going to order. I also think their price may be a little cheaper than Pantera East. Phone 303-660-9897. They will fill you in on how it works and will fax you a form to provide info about your car so they can make the caliper.
