My hazard switch (original) went in one day and decided to stay there. The blinkers blinked 'on' but that was that. I disengaged the switch, which THEN began to work perfectly, but the flasher was very loud, and blinkers began to work intermittently. So...

I replaced the Hazard switch as a precaution.
Purchased a "likely" flasher unit (so said the counter worker) which did NOT allow my blinkers to blink, but activating the flasher WOULD make a noise, yet no blink. As luck would have it...

I RE-installed my 'old' Bosch flasher unit, the blinkers work fine, the hazard (new switch) will NOT work. Weird.

Do I merely need a new "CORRECT" flasher? If so, where in the world does such a thing exist?

Thanks all.

Are you looking for the correct hazard switch (button) or the flasher relay that's in the footwell on the passenger side (at least on my pre-L; moved to driver's side with L-model).

The hazard switch is available from any of the Pantera vendors or a BMW vendor (same switch/button as used on a BMW 2002).
I re-read my own post and got confused, so thanks for responding!

I replaced the hazard switch, then got the 'auto parts store' version of the flasher unit/relay that did NOT cure the problem.

I need the correct Bosch one but who has it? Or is there a 'real' replacement from the AutoZone et al world out there?

I just thought it weird that my blinkers work, but my Hazard does not.
