I am installing my newly buildt stroker engine, and can´t get the left side header to fit.
Bought these headers from PPC (Larry Stock).
My new heads are CHI 3V, and the car is an early push button.
I assume the headers should be correct, is it the heads that cause the relocation of the headers/ problem ?

I believe Larry's headers are a 2V port pattern, (which would also fit on std. 4V heads as bolt holes are the same).

However, I think I'm right in saying the CHI 3V (at least the 225 and 258CC versions) have 0.4" raised exhaust ports and a relocated bolt pattern, so I'm guessing matched headers would be required.

The 185cc 3V head has the standard loctaion, so check which ones you have.

The heads are 3V 218 cc. The headers fit to the heads, and where used at the dyno.
The problem is the space, or lack of, at left side of the engine. My gas tank has a type of heat shield, and the space between this and the engine is cramped. I am unable of "squeezing" the headers into position. The stock engine and headers was tight, but fit.

So if I understand you right you cant get the header in position to even see if it fits. Have you tried installing from the top of engine bay?

I remember having some problems with that side as well with my installtion. I did get them on but cant remember if it was from the top or bottom. I running a Windsor so its not quite the same
I have e.mailed Larry, and are waiting for his reply.
As for the performance, I have posted the whole dyno sheet under the topic rev kit/valve float.
Max torque 515 lb/ft at 5000 rpm
Max hp 540 at 5700 rpm
max rpm 6300. Need a rev kit, and adjustment to my Holley 950 Commander "Box".

I too have an early pushbutton and have minimal clearance on that left (also PPC) header, but with stock heads.

I would suggest that whatever solution you find, consider using the copper header gaskets if it's going to be difficult to get clearance to replace header gaskets (which I'm already having to do on that side). It's good that yours is already dyno-tuned, though, so you'll be less likely to blow them (true also for the coating blistering, which I've also done).
