Headlight Bucket Nut Plate

During fab and body work I am finding myself putting the headlight bucket on and off several times. Instead of fighting the nuts every time I decided to make a nut plate. I thought it would make a useful project for others doing the same:

I didn't have a photo which showed exactly what the nut plate did. I do now so I have added it and updated the page:

So did you originally have just nuts and bolts clamping the two together? My headlight buckets have studs protruding from the bottom.

Ditto, Julian. I was trying to figure out how you were going to make use of this with the studs attached to the bucket.

Ok, Mine did not have studs. It was just bolted on. I wonder if this is an early car thing? My buckets are stamped with the last 3 digits of the serial number. Were yours?

Nope. I didn't notice any, but then again I wasn't specificaly looking for any but I'm pretty sure I would have seen them if they were there.
