I assume you are talking about the little plastic gear that is similar to the window motors. In fact, the headlight motor contains the pieces of a window motor.

Easiest way is to remove the motor. Remove the electric motor first by removing the two small screws that hold it to the assembly. You might need to remove the assembly attatching screws amd move it around to get access. You also need to remove the switches. Be carefull, these small screws break easily. Then you should be able to get the assembly out with some wiggling and moving the lights up or down. Once out, remove the small screws holding the gear box. Inside is the gear. Just slip the new one on with fresh grease and reverse the procedure.
