My headlight motor relay only lifts the lights, but does not retract them.

I've watched thru the clear relay cover and discovered the relay moves a little when the lights are turned off, but doesn't move far enough to contact.

Is there a fix for the relay, do I need a new relay, or is there a problem with inadequate current?
Or, is there an upgrade to the relay or circuit which may be a better long term solution.

Any help would be appreciated - especially on the electrical system!

Thanks, Rod

IMHO,if the relay works in one direction, the problem is more likely to be one of the limit-switches. These can both be taken apart, the contacts wire-brushed & sprayed with TV contact-cleaner (from Radio Shack), then reassembled. Do the external spade-lug connectors, too. Be careful- these microswitches are expensive to replace if you lose an inside part! If this works, be sure to remember Joe Lucas and his always-unplated electrical parts in your evening prayers....
