marlinjackThe Machinist #5723 AMARGOSA MACHINE 'Running on Empty- Middle of Nowhere'
NO!!! All the lighting is wired "stradeled" or "Cati-Corner". This is a safety feature! If ONE fuse blows, only Half the lighting is lost! From the Technical Service Manuel that seems to be Right-On with my '74L. I highly recommend both of you purchase one, It's great reading about our favorite subject. The Drivers (Left) Low beam comes off of fuse #5 (counting down from the top). Passenger (Right)Low beam comes off #6. The High beams are: Left, and the "High Beam" warning light, Fuse #1. Right High beam #2. ALL 4 fuses are rated at 8 amps. I had a problem with my turn signals, the right worked but the left did NOT. Fuse was good, Bulb was good. Turned out to be corrosion in the plug just behind the light housing unit. Took it apart sprayed contact cleaner in both ends, it's been fine ever since. Good-Luck with it! Marlin.
I had the problem with the low beam being dim and the high beam normal. Turned out to be bad ground in the plug. One of the socket prongs had lost tension with age.
