I don't know of any "drop-in" solutions for HID or LED but if you will consider Halogen, you should seriously consider SACC who has developed many excellent Pantera products. There are other as well but Scott has a great reputation for service and delivery.

Yes, there are now some excellent LED 7 inch round headlight replacements for Pantera's.

A fellow PCNC member did this conversion earlier this year and said he is very happy with the results.

I do not know the brand and model he bought, but recall they were quite expensive. Seem to recall they were either $450 each or $450 for the pair.

I'll see if I can't track down exactly what he used.

Bill Moore in Calgary did a drop in LED conversion and I was impressed with the intensity of light they gave out. This is a great solution that negates having to cut the buckets.

Check out Amazon for drop in LED 7" round lamps. 3 to 4 good options, Truck, Sylvania and Phillips. These are all street legal but beware of some of the others, they're not. They are also several on Ebay.

I've thought of trying those 7" round LED headlights, but they were pretty expensive when they first came out.

The 7"round Cibie H4 headlamps are probably the best conventional headlamps you can buy! Had these on my Mustang for years.

Look up "Vortex" LED headlights on Google. They are still $400-$700 a set. For the full "modern" look, there are also small multi-LED 'halos' available that replace your chrome Carillo headlight rings in red, green & blue.
