I purchased a copy of the Hemmings Magazine that shows at the top of the cover a Pantera, a nice looking one, with the title, 10 Exotics under $25,000.00. The article itself has a caption under the Pantera section that says, "$25,000-40,000". I think the headline on the cover is misleading and surprising considering that Hemmings has carried Pantera ads for decades in their HMN publication. I would have expected more. Some publicity is better than none I suppose, however, creating the impression that Panteras can be had for under $25,000.00 is not helpful to the folks that are searching for nice cars and running up against owners that wouldn't part with their cars for double that figure. I must admit there was an ad in the local Auto Trader about 5 years ago that had a Pantera for $19,000.00
I never looked at that car but I did start researching and found the PI & POCA web sites.
I have now been a Pantera owner for almost 4 years and have enjoyed many events by both PI & POCA
The ad spurred my interest in the Pantera and I became A proud owner, I also paid much more than $19,000.00 and I have no regrets.
Well they are probably more interested in selling magazines that Panteras. It is the same with other magazines. Claims of thousand horsepower, mild mannered street cars are all the rage for magazine covers nowadays. I know from experiance magazines will exagerate to sell more magazines. Wink
