Question here on what is "normal" for these animals.....

This weekend it ran 104 on the porch thermometer, and super humid. I was running in lots of stop-and-go (much more stop than go).....temp would climb to 210 (slowly). Im running a 185 thermostat, orig rad, 2 12" suckers......Is that about normal for these cars?........Meaning can you really just sit in 100degrees with 100% humidity and not expect this to happen? Once back a at slow cruise it was back to the normal 190...

I mean Saturday was horrible around here.

Bob, that is way too hot.

You need to move somewhere else.

As for the car, 210 degrees in stop and go in that heat is on the low side. However, the gauges tend to be somewhat inacurate. You should verify the temperature with an external guage or thermometer. I used an infra red guage against a full swirl tank and found that my gauge was dead-on but your's may vary.
Actually the PO replaced the temp gauge with a VDO mechanical, plus I've replaced the t'stat and checked it with a manual thermometer. (wife didnt like that all too much)............ Heck wait till she looks for the turkey baster bulb......great for removing fluids... :-)

But once moving again, even slow I get back down to 190. And like I said, this was a brutally hot day. (I like to play it on the safe side if at all possible)
