The good ol' snobs at Road and Track tested the same Pre-L Pantera in September 1971 and reported a ridiculous 325 feet from 80 MPH @ 0.84G

Driving Magazine (Australia) November 1972 test of a Pre-L Pantera reported 112 feet from 60 MPH

Motor Trend's May 1973 test of a Pantera L reported 119.5 feet from 60 MPH.

The brake proportioning valve inhibits ultimate brake performance because it is incorrectly plumbed into the circuit of the FRONT brakes. Plumbed into the front circuit it acts like an anti-lock system more than a proportioning system. It can be safely removed from the braking system altogether and braking performance will improve. Removing the proportioning valve was one of the earliest common "fixes" for the Pantera.
