Those looking for a cooler running car should check out Hyper Cool by Appled Chemical Inc. which is an antifreeze replacement/enhancer. It is an anti corrosion/water wetter in one product. I swapped out the coolant in my car and am more than satisfied with the results. Running in my garage with the A/C, the car had difficulty keeping the 185 degree thermostat open. Check out their website (especially the FAQ section: www.norosion.com

If you have any questions, Email me. I'm not a chemist but have learned a lot from the manufacturer about cooling systems and coolants since becoming the Hawaii distributor.

This company actually makes "Purple Ice" for Royal Purple but the product that they market is superior to it.

Okay, that is fine.

But what did your car do BEFORE you did the swap?

Were these results a change from before? Was the outside air temp the same? Any other changes made at the same time, like new water pump? Did you bleed air in a diffeent manner than with the old coolant?

I'm all for improving cooling, but word of mouth information is not nearly as valid as comparisons.

Temp here are consistent year round. The temp reduction is about 10-15 degrees. I had similar results in the 'goose. Bleeding was done in the same manner, jacking up the ends. I was using a 50-50 antifreeze mix with royal purple prior to the swap. I now run Hyper Cool with pure tap water. This mix is supposed to transfer heat about 50% better than the 50-50 mix.

If you are in an area where you need freeze protection, leave in about a 15% anifreeze to water mix and add a pint of Hyper Cool. If you are doing a total water replacement, add 1 1/2 pints.

If you haven't check out the manufacturers web site FAQ page, its very educational.
