Well thanks to lots of hard work from my friends and some assistance from forum members, I managed to debut my car at our local show.
Well it recieved a better welcome than I asked for.
However I now realise I need to do a story board on what it is and where they come from !!
I don't have any pics but ......

I believe that is the actual car, not a clone.

If it's anything like American movie cars, there are dozens of people who claim to own "the original car from (insert movie tile here)".

A museum in the UK claims to own "the" Mad Max Interceptor car: http://www.carsofthestars.com/, although I understand a second car was used for interior shots.

Here's a shot of the "original" car. Notice the substantially different front end.

The car pictured above is not an original, It is a car that has been doing the local shows over the last 2 years.
A friend of mine is a crazy Mad Max fan and has allthe details of the cars, and we also are building a MFP replica.
I personally have been to all the location of where Mad Max 1 was filmed, and a few of where Mad Max II were filmed.
To prove my point you can see the rego label in the windscreen which is a victorian rego.
If you want more details on the cars let me know.

Perhaps I am thinking of a different car in the video? I don't know when/where that photo I posted was taken and accept your authority that it isn't the "real" car (either?). I should not have referred to it as "the original car" but to me it looked closer to the one I remember in the movie than the one at the car show. I appreciate any insight you can provide on why there is such a huge difference in them.

Still doesn't change the fact that your car looked awesome there!

OK, now I get it. We're talking about two totally different cars... The car in the video is the Landau... Sorry, my F/U.

that isn't the original car mel gibson drove, iirc, it is the one the bad guys drove up to the gate in road warrior, then the guys got flamed. all i know is that i remember the twin turbo set up and duals, but no, not one mel gibson drove.
i have the mad max trilogy, and will watch again to put my own questions to rest, lol.

btw-your car looks great!
