I have a SVO block and SVO heads. So the water comes out 2x one" holes in the frount of the heads. I made a custom Y for the hoses, and ran a 190 thermostat in the outlet, The car would run for around 30 to 45 min before it slowly overheated. SO I removed thermostat and ran the water straight thru. NOW thecar runs 195 where the fans come on and turn off at 175. If driving down the road the fans never come on and the car runs around 160. BUT last week at the track the car went to 220 in 15 min, or so, I was running the motor hard, around 6000rpm Do you think I need a little bigger raditor. (ron davis 2roll 1" aluminum now) or do you think a better thermostat can fix a small problem.

NO, No restrictor. Just straight 1" pipe. also I might add at TWS, I had No prob. But It was only 55 degrees. The first and only time it has overheated after pulling the thermostat out was on a 90 degree day on the track. PS> I drove the car home, 30 miles- never got over 190.
SO do you think I need a restrictor and if so how big? Sounds like the old 190 thermostat was to much restiction. OR JUST DONT GO TO THE TRACK IN THE SUMMER.
