I thought I had ACC/OFF/On/Start.....right up until the point where the Fiat switch (Marelli) broke and almost burned my car up!

But then my CRS could be acting up today.....

Now I have a tractor switch.....generic sort of NAPA switch. With ACC.

Don't bother with the new switches made in China, sold on Ebay UK from a guy in Greece....they are crap....or at least the switch action is very rough....doesn't give me great confidence.

There are some posts, if you search, on this topic, with part numbers of more generic versions that have spade connections on the back. Very little fuss..... I had to adapt 90 degree spades to posts....only because I was broke down near the middle of nowhere....and that was all that was available. Been working excellent for several years now!

Indications of a failing switch? It gets hot during use, ie headlamps on.....

New one is cool as a cucumber....!

Lee, this is one of the messiest areas a Pantera owner can get stuck in! Be careful ordering parts from non-Pantera vendors such as E(vil) Bay. I did an illustrated 3 pg POCA article (June 2012) on Pantera ignition switches and found FIVE different types that you may run across. Different numbers of wires, different colors, changed component orientations.... 1970-71 Capri switches supposedly interchange but may be dimensionally different, needing substantial mods to even bolt in. This is because there are two completely different early Capri's- one made in Germany and another in England that both use local-source parts. The German car's switch comes closest to a Pantera. Some years of OEM Pantera switches are slightly different too: a '75-78 switch had 7 wires while '71-74s have 4 (usually)- and not all have the same color code or connector styles.

There was an earlier POCA article on the hazards of Capri switch selection (Dec 2010). The switches separate and one can sometimes interchange the electrical part while retaining your original mechanical part that bolts onto the steering column. The lock tumbler assembly can often be interchanged to retain your OEM key, too. Those 5 different switches mentioned all used different key styles. Good luck!
