Inspection camera

When my engine swallowed the air cleaner stud, I borrowed a friend's Milwaukee inspection camera to scope the cylinders and try to determine where the stud went. But, the darn thing was too big to fit through the spark plug hole. Then I went to Harbor Freight and bought a $79 inspection camera with a 20% off coupon, and was able to confirm where the stud went. Image quality is pretty good for the price, but it doesn't have the ability to save images. Also, it's more difficult to maneuver and determine which way you're looking than you would think, but that's a product of any of these cameras. Anyway, it's come in really handy as I've used the thing several times now.

I'm not that impressed with it, the image is pretty grainy, but it does video, and pictures, It's not something you'll use very often. You'll have to worry about the battery being dead when you do need it more than anything else. I could live without it.

Thanks. I went with the DBPower scope. I see Aardvark has one which uses bluetooth to send the picture to your cell phone. Interesting.

Barbour Freight has been a godsend at times. Yes, they have off brands but nine times out of 10 they perform just as well as a major brand and for a fraction of the price.

I keep seeing waterproof flexible snake cameras that attach directly to an iPhone or android advertised now. There are also USB laptop versions, the image quality should be pretty good if they are an extension of the phones camera/video capabilities.
