Installing New ZF Mount Bushings

...Your Idea Should Work!! If Not,

Might be easiest to just SAW the Rubber into Halves, shouldn't Hurt It! Use Large Stainless Washers as 'Load Spreaders', at each end...and to Shim the ZF into Alignment. A Good Idea to use Stainless Steel Bolts or Grade 8.

Have you removed the old ones yet and seen how well they are in there! The new ones are unlikely to just tap in, if you have the ZF out remove the  mounts and press them in with plenty of lubrication.

I bought new ones were already two pieces. Unfortunately not yet installed.

I have both pressed them in and cut them in half.  I prefer pressed but when trying such on the last set, they would not go in.  I ended up sawing them.

As you wrote, use some lube or grease when pressing.

I will remove the mounts as @joules mentioned.  I have a press so will see how it goes and report back.

Gloves, lube, hot water!!!! And press them in… very hot water….

Doubled up large Area washers, 8.8 or + bolt and impact … should do the trick
