All,

Here is a repository for maintenance items related to the engine jackshaft and then some. This is info that I compiled whilst working on my car.

To share it is to make your lives easier!!! I hope.....cuz there's nothing worse than replacing a jackshaft bearing in the parking lot of a hotel casino....unless perhaps you're doing this in a Walmart parking lot...! Smiler

Here goes:
Front J/S Bearing 47mm x 20mm x 18mm (width)
This is an extra wide bearing. You can use a narrow version, but then your front pulley alignment will be off! #62204-2RS1 (2RS1= 2 Rubber Seals...the best type!)

Middle and Rear Bearing-(Early Cars) 47x25x16 #63005-2RS1 Others including myself, don't really recommend running the middle bearing. If DeTomaso had built an adjustable center bearing mount, then it would be different. Once you install the jackshaft on an aluminum intake, all bets are off for shaft alignment once you tighten those intake bolts down on a nice fresh squishy intake gasket! You can be off by as much as .030" and risk breaking your shaft from flex. It has happened.
I had a custom 1/2" steel J/S bracket on my Boss 302 engine and I still shucked a middle bearing...and I thought it was straight!!! (it went together so nicely!)

Late Cars- Rear Bearing Not sure where this cut into production....but the replacement jackshaft bracket I purchased directly from the factory had a larger rear bearing! 52mm x 25 x 15 #6205-2RSL or 205-SZZ
52mm retaining clips: DIN472-52

Idler Pulley Bearings #63003-2RS1 These are also a special wider bearing! You may get offered a narrow version.....but don't do it! You will need to stack clips in the left over space to keep the pulley from walking about on the mounting post. Learned this from previous mechanic's attempt to do the job! It worked...but why...when you can get the right parts!

Not a jackshaft bearing, but a bearing non-the-less!
Clutch Throw-Out Bearing BCA #1625 (Bearing Corp of America)

Also not a bearing...
Cork Seal Kit for Axle Shaft Spicer #"D3A" One kit does one axle.

Hope this helps someone out!
Steve
