"L" front bumper repair

If you have access to POCA newsletters or wish to get the back issues, the Dec '97 issue had an article by Curt Toumanian on doing exactly that- fixing a delaminated front L bumper. Curts car is a show-winner incidently.... New L bumpers are well into the $800 range now, and most original ones (30+ yrs old) are beginning to look as you describe yours.

Factory new bumpers are not available, I believe. My insurance company was charge $1,490, the 'cost' of a new one, but the vendor was only going to 'refurbish' mine.
Decent ones are hard to find used, but ARE available, I bought one, cheap. Lots of owners dump them when converting to the small bumper style.

A new bumper for the L is $500.00 from Pantera East. It's a copy of the original.

Haven't seen you on the web lately. I hope your car is going as planned. (If there is such a thing as a "plan" for the Panteras)
Re your "L" bumper. You might give some thought to converting the "L" bumper to a pre-L.

Yup - I'm still around, but you know how it is here in the great white North! I haven't been able to play with the car because it's been in storage. But, the cat has been officially let out of it's (car)bag! Now it's time for the projects! I'm sure that I'll be posting more questions here, the collective brain trust on this bulletin board & on the e-mail forum is outstanding!
