I am going again this year in the Pantera as usual staying with my fellow De Tomaso Drivers Club UK members in a hotel near Alencon north of Le Mans. Roger Brotton is driving a Deauville but I do not yet know if any other members are bringing DeTomasos!
last year my car broke down before the weekend and i had to hire a car(Fiat Punto) for the rest of the trip home and have the Pantera transported back to Ireland as I could not find the parts in France to repair it. This year all going well I will be able to meet some fellow enthusiasts. So who is going to be there?

I'll be there are well. Johnny is in Camping Bleu Nord, and I'm in Camping Bleu sud (or vice versa - we aren't far away from each other). Mike Drew will be with us as well.

I'll be arriving early Wednesday to reserve room, since we are a kind of large group this year, so I will probably grab a camping spot right next to the entrance, which will make it easy to see.

Hope we meet up!!
Cheers guys,
all going well i intend to drive the Pantera into Le Mans and hopefully meet up. Last year it broke down and the previous year i had an accident/fall after arriving and couldnt drive for most of the trip. is there anywhere I can get a map of the area with the campsites also outlined as i do not know my way around the city?
The new purchase will be going, I’ve just bought Ric Lee’s Guara Coupe to keep the Deauville company and I’ll certainly be down on the track on Friday and was planning to go up to the club hotel on Friday evening to meet the Brotton-Meister and indeed my cars original owner.

Hope to meet one or two of you and put some faces to some names
Trust you guys had a good time at Le Mans. Again i never got to meet Charlie, maybe next year. the weather was bad and I missed my boat over which cut my holiday down to three days instead of six. I need to check the ticket next time. I didnt bring the Pantera as i had a coolant leak appear the night before i was due to leave, stayed up until 1.30am fixing it and bleeding the system but did not have enough time to properly test the car and as the weather was so bad i just said feck it, and tossed my luggage into my 850CSi. Needless to say it was a quick smooth journey down in that car even in the rain.
Next year i doubt if i can make both events so provisionally i am aiming to do the classic. So keep in touch guys.

Talked to many Le Mans attendees, and it looks as though most will be attending Classic Le Mans next year. I'll do the same thing we did this year - take a whole week and go visit a bunch of chateaux along the Loire before the event. Makes it much nicer than just zooming up for the event and then zooming back as soon as it is over.

Is it a date? July 2008?

By the way, I'll write up my adventure on a separate post.
