An extra space has become available on the RV tractor trailer rig that will be taking three cars to the Las Vegas Rally and track event at the end of April, from Atlanta, Georgia. For someone that wants to attend with their car and can bring their car to Atlanta for departure, this is a great opportunity to attend the event in style and comfort.

While this rally is focused on Panteras, other marques are welcome to attend the event and participate in the track event.

We will load up the cars on Monday, April 25, and head west with Jerry Pentaleri, me, one additional car/driver, and the rig driver. We plan one stop in Albuquerque, NM, on Tuesday night to visit another Pantera owner, Ron Norman. We will then drive from Ron's place with Ron tagging along in his Pantera to Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 27. We would return on Sunday, May 1, and be back in Atlanta sometime Tuesday the 3rd.

For anyone interested, contact me directly on my cell phone at 404-964-7396 to discuss the tote fee and further details. If for some reason I don't answer the phone, leave a message and the best time to contact you.

A review of the event, schedule, and transportation follows.

The Las Vegas event runs from Wednesday, April 27 to Sunday, May 1st, with the racing portion on the 28-29.

For a gander at what the event has been, see:

The track that will be used this year is a fantastic facility. Further information on the track facility can be seen:

The necessary information on the track event and registration information can be found at:

If the number of early registrants is any indication (40), there will be a great crowd of folks at the track driving not only Panteras but other marques as well.

The rally portion of the event is the largest gathering of Pantera enthusiasts in the world. All the Pantera Vendors will be there as well to find out the newest and latest that the competition is offering, as well as hawking their wares.

Also, the hotel, The Orleans Hotel and Casino, is really a great facility as well.. See the following for more detail:

The tractor/RV and trailer is brand new and is one first class setup. A picture of the brand new rig can be seen at:

The RV tractor includes 17 feet of living space that sleeps six and can be seen at the site below. It includes satellite TV, Sirius satellite radio, DVD player, shower, full kitchen, roll out side for large sitting and sleeping area, on board generator that also supplies the trailer power, one very large deisel engine with an automatically shifted 16 speed manual transmission, cruises at 90 with no problem, etc.

The enclosed trailer is the 44 foot model that hauls 3 cars, with a lift and includes a complete workshop area with all kinds of storage.

Remember the trip out there and back in the hauler will require you to ride in comfort with some very avid car guys (plus Mike the driver), watching listening to as much satellite TV and radio as you want, drinking and eating to your hearts content, and generally doing what car guys do when they get together.

Thanks for remembering to stop by, Dick. You guys are all welcome, whether you want to plug the electricity in here at the house with that nice rig or have other arrangements for Tuesday night. I live on a little bit of a slope, the street, not my house! It wouldn't fit in the driveway, dude. If you decide to park here, at my house, the guys not doing the driving can shoot pool and drink beer all night if you want, but I'll have to sleep, like the driver of the rig.... Let me know what you think as time gets closer. Very nice write-up, thanks for taking the time and making the effort.

I wrote an article in Alejandro's Neighborhood Bar tonight because I read my new Road and Track and stopped by the news stand an picked up an issue of Sports Car Illustrated, started reading some stuff that got me really excited and just told everybody who wanted to read and get thrilled with some visual stimuli too. Check it out.
