The bulkhead behind the radiator is too close to the radiator to do a GT40 type air duct. So in order to do a GT40 hood on the Pantera, that bulkhead has to be angled back towards the passenger compartment. Nathan Giles of Arizona has done just that, there's a story about his car in issue 126 of Pantera International magazine.

I was visiting Byars at PrecisionProformance about 6 months ago, and they did a custom hood kind of like the GT40 but not as deep & radical. Looked pretty good I thought...sorry didn't have my camera with me, it was a blue Pantera.

Thinking about modifying mine to look something like the Shelby GT500 hood (only less of a "hump"):

Danny Ocean, you make it sound like I refused to sell you the hood. For the record, I didn't refuse to sell anyone anything. Somebody was just fairly out bid! Confused
Interesting thread guys...and yes, the voice of reason;...it does seem to be prudent to leave the orginal alone and 'play' with a glass/ carbon aftermarket one.......If just for looks then anything goes i guess according to taste... but the practical side is as mentioned, more hot air out and less lift in front ...perhaps combined with lighter weight depending on the product used.... I will weigh my 'new' carbon fiber one and post its weight compared with the orginal. I've gone for a subtle change in the vein of the nice GT5S 'look' which i like and looks kind of orginal....but have gone quite 'wild' on the rear-deck lid with 'blister' type reverse - scoops to let out the hot air and let in the always peering eyes....i'll post pics...soon.

That sounds light Ron. I will weigh mine this weakend. Have you got a pic for us...Sorry, i am not up to scratch on all the older postings on this, you probaley have posted already, but what the hell, if you find the time it would nice for us all to see agin anyway? - Have you done more carbon panels you can show us ?....i will post pic of my rear deck-lid and see what you guys think...its a bit wild with big 'blister scoops' and cut-out to accomdate the Webers....saved the orginal of course.
Gr8 website Ron...iam amazed i haven seen it before....will sign up soon.
