Hello All,
Yesterday I heard about a machine shop near Valley Forge,Pa.Apparently they do a lot of Ford work. Is anyone familiar with them? A name and phone # would be great.
Also wondering if anyone has a standard bore 4 bolt 351C block for sale.
One more thing, what are my options for a steel crankshaft? Are any of the FRPP cranks applicable to a Cleveland? I allready know that I'd have to use chevy rods.
Thanks, Guy

A number of 'steel' cranks, especially strokers, are available. They are mostly cast-steel made in Taiwan & grond to size here, and seem to hold together OK. The stock cast-malleable-iron crank also is normally the last component to fail unless you are pumping a LOT more power than stock. IMHO, the only reason to add a steel crank is if it was cheap & available, and I planned to spin the engine over 7500 for long periods of time, or use BIG nitrous shots. And if so, I wouldn't stick it in a stock block. The Chev rods are a good idea as their bearings take slightly higher loads than Ford and custom lengths are cheaper, but this stuff is really only applicable if you've been breaking Ford rods & cranks.
